P4WW

Welcome to Primary 4A, Ms Wojnicka's class web page :)

I am so delighted to have our wonderful children back in school after their summer holidays.

Our Literacy focus this half-term is Recount Writing. I look forward to reading our wonderful work and hearing all about our summer experiences!

Our Numeracy focus this half-term is a revision of exchanging, charts, shape, money and problem-solving strategies.

Our WAU topics this year: Senses, Materials, Weather, WW2 and Gardens and Growth. We have lots of fun things planned for learning through these topics as the year progresses!

Our start time is 8.55 am (gates open at 8.45 am). Pupils enter the school via the Church Carpark (Parish Entrance). We finish at 3pm Monday to Thursday and 1.30 pm on Friday.

Homework will be given out at the start of each week. This will include a spelling task each night, an English task on a Monday, Mental Maths on a Tuesday, Comprehension on Wednesday and Maths Tasks on a Thursday. Homework done the previous evening must be brought in the following day to be marked. We will do a spelling test and mental maths test every Friday.

School Bags: Pupils should come to school each day with a school bag containing their water bottle, packed lunch (if required), and break (e.g. a piece of fruit). Pupils are encouraged to bring in their own pencils, rubber, sharpener, coloured pencils, glue stick, small ruler etc. but we will also have sets of everything for each table.

As we are a healthy eating school all pupils are required to bring in a healthy break and lunch.

NO NUTS🥜-Please do not pack anything containing nuts as several pupils have severe nut allergies.

This is a very important year for P.4 children as they will be making their First Holy Communion. We will let you know this date when it is confirmed later in the year.

P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday's P.E. day we ask that children come into school wearing PE kit - navy tracksuit bottoms, a white polo t-shirt, a school jumper and trainers. On Wednesday's PE day we ask for children to come dressed in full uniform.

This year P4 will be beginning Accelerated Reader and Freckle. We will get this set-up as soon as possible.

I look forward to a great year with your lovely children!

Ms Wojnicka
