14th Jan 2020

After many years of campaigning for renovations to the school premises, St John the Baptist PS in Belfast is today celebrating the school's inclusion in the list of schools to receive substantial funding (£4 million) as part of the School Enhancement Programme (SEP).

School Principal, Chris Donnelly: “We are delighted to have been included on the list of schools to receive funding as part of the School Enhancement Programme. This will enable us to transform the existing school premises in St John the Baptist PS, allowing our staff to continue delivering a first class educational experience but in new, state of the art classroom learning environments for all of our children.”

Dinah MacManus, chairperson of the Board of Governors, thanked those who have articulated the case for the school in the past and up to the present times:
"We are grateful to all of those who have lobbied on behalf of the school over many years, including previous Board of Governors

Trustee and parish priest, Fr Ciaran Feeney, commented, "This is a tremendous day for everybody in the parish family, of which the school community is an integral part."
