P7AB DIT DIT DIT...DAH DAH DAH...

19th Jun 2019

P7AB had a special visitor, Shannon's granda, Mr Aylward.

The P7s had been learning about 19th century inventions. During a visit to school, Shannon's granda spotted a Morse Code machine made by Karen in our class.

Shannon's granda had been a ship's radio officer when he was younger and we asked him to come back to share his experiences.

He came back with so much equipment they were all able to send and receive Morse Code messages.

They also heard about his travels to beautiful, far off exotic countries.as well as what it was like to live and work on a ship for long periods of time.

A very informative and captivating talk from Shannon's granda.

Thank you so much for your time, Mr Aylward.
