The Class of 2021-2022 Ms Heatley, Mrs Devlin and Mrs Savage working together this year

3rd Sep 2021

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Primary 5. We have a busy year ahead with a wonderful curriculum for your children.

We are reading the stories of the Ulster Cycle and have already started our work on the Naming of Emhain Macha.  We are having fun learning bits of Irish as well. Our recount writing will be on Cúchulainn, taking the form of a newspaper article.

Mrs Savage will be working with us on Thursdays and Fridays. She is a fabulous asset to SJBπŸ˜‡ allowing your children to achieve all they are capable of.

in Maths we are using our new text books and discovering fun ways to learn our tables....photos to follow.πŸ‘‰πŸΌπŸ˜‰

We have already started our guided reading work, not to mention our word quiz πŸ€”

We are looking forward to starting boxing lessons later this month.

Our WAU topic is school in the olden days and we will be interviewing the more mature staff members about their experience of school.

Later in the year we hope to work with Michael Culbert to produce a tree trail for all the school to use with a focus on our native trees and the stories associated with them.

As always it will take your children time to get used to the work and routine of primary five but we will do all we can to see them settle in and enjoy this year.

Mrs Devlin will stay with us and nurture us. (Keeping me right)

We will stay in touch throughout the year.

May it be a safe, happy and contented year for us all,

Kind regards,

Ms Heatley, Mrs Devlin and Mrs Savage
